ASAP Install Fails When Tablespace Name Is In Lowercase (Doc ID 1070639.1)

Last updated on JUNE 21, 2010

Applies to:

Oracle Communications ASAP - Version: 7.0.0 and later   [Release: 7.0.0 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The ASAP Setup Guide has provided an example for creating tablespaces as below:

For example:

SQL> create tablespace "ASAP" logging datafile
'/usr/oraclehome/OraHome1/asaplogs/asaplog.dbf' size 256K reuse autoextend on next
256K maxsize unlimited default storage (initial 128K next 128K minextents 1
maxextents unlimited pctincrease 0);

If a user follows this example they can easily create a tablespace name in lowercase (when in quotes Oracle DB won't convert to uppercase on creation), which will subsequently cause the ASAP installer to fail.
