MSONWL64 MEMORY BASED PLANNER 64-BIT LINUX

Symptoms

On :  12.1.1 with 11.5.10 ERP source:

Users are on R12.1.1 CU4 Patch 9058835.   When running an ECC Constrained ASCP plan it fails with the following:

MSONWL64 module: Memory Based Planner 64-bit Linux

Slice # 342 (21 demands) from priority: 32 to: 32
TIMER: slice 341 pre phase 1 time = 0
All Operation = 1509
TIMER: slice 341 phase 1 time = 0
MSONWL64.exe: /disk1/R121_64bit_wkr/mso/src/hlsmath/msohmmg2.cpp:2962: virtual IlcGoal LeftJustifyI::execute(): Assertion `ret' failed.
/aps/glbl/tst5/apps_st/appl/mso/12.0.0/bin/MSONWL64.exe
Program was terminated by signal 6

What we tried:  This looked very similar to an error in Bug.9042289/9036775 (36) STARTED GETTING SIGNAL 6 ERRORso we had customer apply patch 9305576 to get file version msohoopr.lcc 120.146.12010000.35 (Previously they had file version msohoopr.lcc 120.146.12010000.27) - But it did not fix the problem - confirmed the patch was applied as it matches the file version .35 aforementioned.  After the patch the error was pretty much the same but slightly different in the log file

TIMER: slice 82 phase 2 time = 13
TIMER: slice 82 phase 2 time = 0
TIMER: slice 82 phase 3 time = 9
Memory Used: 573.92 MB; Scheduling duration: 0.4905 Mins
====================================================
Slice # 84 (2500 demands) from priority: 101 to: 102
TIMER: slice 83 pre phase 1 time = 1
All Operation = 44630
TIMER: slice 83 phase 1 time = 4
MSONWL64.exe: /disk1/R121_64bit_wkr/mso/src/hlsmath/msohmmg2.cpp:2962: virtual IlcGoal LeftJustifyI::execute(): Assertion `ret' failed.
/aps/glbl/dev6/apps_st/appl/mso/12.0.0/bin/MSONWL64.exe
Program was terminated by signal 6

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. ASCP 12.1 with 11.5.10 ERP source instance
