The mentioned Config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.Bat File Is Not Available In Opa_home/Aers Folder

(Doc ID 1085860.1)

Last updated on APRIL 23, 2010

Applies to:

Adverse Event Reporting System - Version: 4.6 and later   [Release: 4.6 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

While upgrading AERS 4.6 to 4.6.2, it was noticed that config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat file is not available in the mentioned opa_home/aers folder.

Rather it has actually been copied into opa_home/bin folder after running the apply_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat file.

e.g. Release notes currently state:

<> Oracle Adverse Event Reporting System Release 4.6.2 (<>)

Configuring formsweb.cfg to Support Swan

The following steps configure the formsweb.cfg file to support swan changes.

Please note that PERL should be in the path before performing this step.

  1. Open a command prompt.
  2. Set the value of the environment variable OPA_HOME to the root directory of your Oracle AERS 4.6 installation:
  3. DOS> set opa_home=OPA_HOME_VALUE
  4. Set ORACLE_AS10GMT_HOME=<oracle 10g R2 application server path>
    (For example, D:\Oracle\10gR2MT)
  5. Navigate to <opa_home>\aers
  6. Execute the batch script config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat.
  7. A detailed log of the operation can be found at \log.

However the installation log actually shows this was copied to a different location to that mentioned in the instructions above e.g.:

+++ Processing config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat
source: aers\frontend\config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat
destination: c:\opapps46\bin\config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat
Backed up c:\opapps46\bin\config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat to c:\opapps46\bin\config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat_pre-aers4.6.2.0
Patch file aers\frontend\config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat is identical to c:\opapps46\bin\config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat.  File left unchanged.
+++ Outcome for config_fe_aers4.6.2.0.bat: "SUCCESS" ("UNCHANGED")

So file was actually copied to

Rather than the release note mentioned location of:

Same in the AERS Release Notes.
