The Comverse Insight cartridge did not generate a connection lost exception when a network element did not respond to the cartridge's request. The read time out was set to 30 seconds so if network element does not respond within that period then the cartridge should throw a connection lost exception. Disconnection of the existing connection also did not happen after configuring the drop_timeout parameter to 60 seconds.
