The purpose of Security and Hardening is to minimize and eliminate as many security risks where possible with the intention to protect systems and data from internal and external attacks or system penetration. This can be achieved by implementing security and hardening measures on general operating systems (using anti-virus software and firewalls) as well as on database servers (i.e. putting them behind a firewall, using non-default ports and only opening the ports that are required, including using SSL), application servers and web servers.
P6 can be deployed in environments where system hardening measures are in practice.
