Are System Events Subject To Compare_bi Functionality? (Doc ID 1205733.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.3.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

According to documentation (see below) and current configuration in BRM out-of-box, re-rating shall not perform any change in database when original event to be re-rated is exactly the same as new event created by re-rating (i.e. the two events are identical). However, we have experienced that all events are re-rated regardless of fact that original & new re-rating event are exactly the same. Our focus is primarily on Cycle Forward Fees & Purchase Fees, secondarily also on traffic.

Documentation states:

Portal checks the /config/rerate_flds/compare_bi object during rerating. If the balance impact fields in this object have the same values in the event for both rerating and previous rating, and the total rerating adjustment is zero, the results of rerating and previous rating are considered equivalent and no adjustment event is created.
