[2387] Operation at Server Failed. [3633] Saving Source Definition with ORA-12899 (Doc ID 1261886.1)

In Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications Infrastructure (OFSAAI) 7.1, when you try to define a new Data Source, you receive the following error when saving the new Data Source information in the Data Source Details screen:

[2387] Operation at server failed. [3633] Saving Source definition
failed. [4547] For more information check the log file.

The following error appears in the revappserver.log in the $FIC_APP_HOME/common/FICServer/logs directory:

[REVELEUSLOG] Oct 22,10 10:40:59 : [SMSSERVICES][SMSServices] Error in executing BatchError while executing Update :Failed Executing Query. Reason: ORA-12899: value too large for column "<owner>"."ETLSOURCEDETAILS"."V_SRV_IP_ADDR" (actual: 23, maximum: 20)

As a result of the error, you cannot save the new Data Source.

Additionally, when you click on the "Test Source" button, the test is successful.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Go to Unified Metadata Manager > Technical Metadata Management > Data Integrator
  2. Go to Source Designer > Define Sources > Define Data Source
  3. Click on New
  4. Fill out all Data Source Details for an RDBMS source
  5. Click Save

The error appears.
