In Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications Infrastructure (OFSAAI) 7.1, when you try to define a new Data Source, you receive the following error when saving the new Data Source information in the Data Source Details screen:
 Operation at server failed.  Saving Source definition
failed.  For more information check the log file.
The following error appears in the revappserver.log in the $FIC_APP_HOME/common/FICServer/logs directory:
[REVELEUSLOG] Oct 22,10 10:40:59 : [SMSSERVICES][SMSServices] Error in executing BatchError while executing Update :Failed Executing Query. Reason: ORA-12899: value too large for column "<owner>"."ETLSOURCEDETAILS"."V_SRV_IP_ADDR" (actual: 23, maximum: 20)
As a result of the error, you cannot save the new Data Source.
Additionally, when you click on the "Test Source" button, the test is successful.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Go to Unified Metadata Manager > Technical Metadata Management > Data Integrator
- Go to Source Designer > Define Sources > Define Data Source
- Click on New
- Fill out all Data Source Details for an RDBMS source
- Click Save
The error appears.
