Purpose

Generic system checks that you can use before and after performing system changes. These are intended to be a small set of checks that can be performed quickly to identify obvious issues or changes and not an exhaustive list to confirm the correct function of every component.

NOTE: Most platform changes will require specific checks or steps to confirm that they have been completed successfully. You may also have your own tests to check the services used by your subscribers.
It is also a good idea to run any specific tests before making changes to ensure that your tests work and you know the expected behaviour.

Scope

This document is intended for users administering the platform and requires some knowledge of UNIX, Linux and Solaris administration, as well as familiarity with the Oracle database, NCC applications and concepts.
