Error: "java.net.ProtocolException: Server redirected too many times (20)" When Loading Applets In P6 Web Access Configured With Oracle Single Sign On (OSSO) 10.1.4.3 And Oracle HTTP Server 11g (Doc ID 1276879.1)

Last updated on JUNE 15, 2021

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version 7.0 SP1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When loading applets* in P6 Web Access when configured with Oracle Single Sign On (OSSO) using Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) 11g, the following exception is reported in the JRE Console Log:

*Applets in P6 Web Access are areas like (but not limited to) the 'Open Project' window or 'Activity List'.

Further investigation of the JRE Console logs shows the OSSO Server is requesting to set-cookie with an HTTPOnly flag.

For example:
network: Server
http://<DOMAIN>:7778/osso_login_success?urlc=v1.4~325FD5B59E2F4D33949F545895A0C7975CD

to set-cookie with
"OHS-<DOMAIN>:7778=E913A4CEC12555805B71A6087F70B472FD368D183BF1; path=/;HTTPOnly"
Note:  The string of letters/numbers may extend longer than the example used above.

Changes

This issue occurs when OSSO 10.1.4.3 is configured with Oracle Fusion Middleware Web Tier (OHS 11g).  This issue does not occur when OSSO 10.1.4.3 is configured with OHS 10g.
