Multiple 18X Responses Change SipSession State From EARLY to CONFIRMED (Doc ID 1290834.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Converged Application Server - Version: 4.0.0 to 5.0.0 - Release: 4.0.0 to 5.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.

A JSR116 or JSR289 (SIP Servlet API) based SIP session has the following states INITIAL, EARLY, CONFIRMED, and TERMINATED where EARLY is the state during call setup and CONFIRMED is the state when the call is established.

The transition to the state CONFIRMED should only happen after reception of a SIP 2xx message. However during call setup the following behavior is observed:

LegB) | |--->| | INVITE
LegB) | |<---| | 180(INVITE) EARLY
LegB) | |<---| | 183(INVITE) CONFIRMED
LegB) | |<---| | 200(INVITE) CONFIRMED
LegB) | |--->| | ACK CONFIRMED

This worked fine with OCCAS 3.1.1 but not with OCCAS 4.0 and 5.0.
