Is The Iso-8859-2 Character Set Supported With The CCB Database? (Doc ID 1292960.1)

Last updated on MARCH 01, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing - Version 2.3.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

**Disclaimer:** This KM article may include the following abbreviations:

CCB/CC&B - Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing

There is a need to migrate data from legacy system and using UTF-8 increases amount of that data would require additional transformations or cleaning because of database fields sizes constraints.

Users were not able to find info about required database encoding in CC&B documentation.
The only source is the article with list of encodings required for specific language packs, that states UTF-8 for Polish language pack.
There is a need to understand the reason for this requirement - assuming it's technically possible to convert database with Polish language pack installed to ISO-8859-2 encoding, as it should contain only subset of UTF-8 that is convertible to ISO-8859-2.

Is it supported to run CC&B with database character set ISO-8859-2, instead of the default UTF-8?
