Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management 7.4 Patch Set 8 is released on 9th February 2011.

Patch Id: 10432000

Summary of customer-reported fixes delivered in Patch Set 8

SR Number

Bug Number Description
3-2216724871 10358931 When you purchase a product and cancel
the product on the same day (mid-cycle),
the refund is now calculated correctly.
3-2326019561 10358934 In previous releases, if both account A
and B are in the same system, pipeline
rating sometimes picked up the wrong
account that impacted the balance group
data.
Changes were made to avoid the
B-number search overwriting balance
group data populated by the A-number
search.
3-2033205771 10363104 BRM generated a backout event for the
first discount when a second sequential
discount was purchased. A second event
was generated for the purchase of the first
and second discounts.
When multiple sequential discounts are
purchased, BRM now correctly identifies
and filters the events for each discount.
3-2411591921 10424899 BRM now allows rating a purchase,
cancellation, or other A/R action if the
action is backdated earlier than the GL
posted date. A new backdating_past_gl_
posted_date business configuration entry
is added that you can enable or disable for
the check against the GL posted date. By
default, this parameter is disabled.
3-2413054621 10622058 A new policy opcode, PCM_OP_AR_
POL_PRE_EVENT_ADJUSTMENT,
allows you to customize the input flist by
adding or deleting events. Customizing
the input flist allows you to include
amounts from events into the total
amount available for adjustments.
3-2151232401 10153676 The status of a closed item will now
change only if the item’s transfer amount
and due amount are non-zero.
3-2172463921 10274527 In previous releases, when the Oracle
Data Manager (DM) was started, the error
message “Dm: Added dm_tt_rep_state”
appeared in the log.
This message now appears only when the
IMDB Cache database is enabled in the
environment.
3-2347805311 10327738 In Customer Center, you can now
successfully purchase a new plan with
optional deals.
3-2347004401 10350345 You can now reload zones reliably using a
semaphore
3-2321381531 10375377 The MergeXML utility now picks up the
common attributes in ATTRIBUTE TAGS
within two files and merges them
correctly.
3-1555269021 10121091 A new rating opcode, PCM_OP_RATE_
GET_SYSTEM_DISCOUNTS, gets all the
system discounts that are filtered out for
billing time discounts from the cache.
3-2283148761 10282976 The PCM_OP_WRITE_FLDS opcode now
writes the correct value to the field
specified in the input flist.
3-2336930731 10287786 The PCM_OP_PYMT_POL_VALIDATE_
PAYMENT policy opcode now picks up
the correct database number from the
input flist.
3-2398053801 10358220 Pricing Center now allows rounding
expressions for aggregation counter
resources.
3-2456174781 10373170 A new FCT_UsageClassMap module
field, CopyUsageClass, decides whether
the DETAIL.USAGE_CLASS field should
overwrite the DETAIL.INTERN_USAGE_
CLASS field.
3-2374693351 10366684 Shadow events can now be turned off.
Usage events in the invoices now display
the new rerated amount instead of the
differential amount, when shadow events
are turned off.
3-2213840781 10299119 Memory leaks that occur through the
Connection Manager are now fixed.
3-2693820961 11067835 The PCM_OP_SUBSCRIPTION_SET_
DISCOUNT_STATUS opcode now
updates the discount status properly.

Key Enhancements in BRM 7.4 Patch Set 8

Purging closed /active_session objects from memory
The pin_clean_asos utility now deletes only closed /active_session objects from the
TIMOS memory or the BRM database. To implement this change, the -state parameter was removed from the pin_clean_asos utility.

Simplified plan transitions
This patch enables the PCM_OP_SUBSCRIPTION_TRANSITION_PLAN opcode
to support plan transitions to any plan without requiring plan transition rules to
be defined using Pricing Center. It is now possible in BRM to enable plan transitions without defining
transition rules by using the PCM_OP_SUBSCRIPTION_POL_PRE_TRANSITION_PLAN policy opcode.
