UIM Installation on AIX Throws Error: "Unable to load performance pack"

Our AIX based systems from OOB installation appears to have incorrect Native IO information configured which has resulted various hanging issues with the sockets unable to close.
Symptoms
OOB installation includes setUIMEnv_%ServerName%.sh script which contains following lines
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${BEA_HOME}/weblogic/server/native/aix/ppc:${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:
SHLIB_PATH==${BEA_HOME}/weblogic/server/native/aix/ppc:${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:
By default WebLogic configuration has 'Native IO Enabled' which means that WebLogic is to be using the above-mentioned parameters. System hangs and have resulted in number of core-dumps.
