UIM Installer: Debug Port Usage (Doc ID 1298621.1)

Goal

In the UIM installer, in the "Connect to Weblogic Admin Server" screen there is a "Debug Port" field with the default value 8899.

The documentation (Installation guide) says:

In the Debug Port field, leave the default value.
The debug port is used by Java developers to debug the program. If you installed
multiple instances of WebLogic on the same server, change the debug port’s
default value.

Is this port only for developers that build/debug UIM as a product? or for developers that implement, customize and extend UIM? In other words, is this field used only by Oracle internally? If not, how can we use it?
