Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM) Installation and Configuration with Primavera P6 and Contract Management (Doc ID 1299050.1)

Last updated on MARCH 31, 2022

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version 6.2.1.0 and later
Primavera Contract Management - Version 13.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

The Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM) Pack gathers detailed configuration information about a variety of designated Oracle products and components across an enterprise. It provides capabilities such as search and compare across all systems, configuration monitoring, policy management and compliance support, and comprehensive reporting. It also includes a critical patch advisory. This pack helps automate the time-consuming and error prone process of managing hardware, Fusion Middleware configurations and deployments.

With Primavera P6 version 6.2.1 (starting with Service Pack 1), version 7, release 8 (formally known as Web Access) and Contract Management version 13, OCM (v10.3.2 or later) can help capture system and configuration information.

Refer to the following document for detail regarding OCM data capture for P6 Web Access and Contract Management:  Oracle Configuration Manager Collection Overview

Note:  Support for OCM will be removed from P6 EPPM r8.4.0.0 and all later release versions.

Scope

This document is intended to be a guide for System Adminstrator's installing and configuring the OCM tool with the Primavera P6 or Contract Management products.  This document does not cover the installation of OCM in full detail, rather it is tailored for specific use with these Primavera products.  For full installation and administration of the OCM product, please refer to the Primary Note for Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM) Installation, Setup and Configuration (Doc ID 1304794.1).

$ORACLE_HOME in this document is a reference to any Oracle installed product and not strictly a reference to the Oracle Database Platforms , for example, the P6 Web Access Home directory would be considered an $ORACLE_HOME.
