Does Oracle Certify 64 bit JVM For ASAP Implementations? (Doc ID 1305791.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 22, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications ASAP - Version 7.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ASAP 7.0.0 documentation recommends using a 32Bit JVM for WebLogic Server for the ASAP implementation. Need to certify and to support a 64Bit JVM for this implementation.

NB: The current implementation is based on WebLogic Server 9.2.1 SP1 with 64GB of physical memory for all components. Oracle recommends using a 32Bit JVM component. The 32Bit JVM manages approximately 3 GB of memory. When it reaches that limit, an “out of memory error” is encountered. There are, however, 64Bit JVM distributions readily available for the same platform. These JVMs manage their requirements based on available physical memory without limitation or error.
