Resource Manager Unable To Connect To 64 Bit SQL Server Database (Doc ID 1306032.1)

Last updated on JUNE 01, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Real Time Scheduling - Version: 1.13.2 and later   [Release: 1.13 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to run Resource Manager in an environment consisting of 64 bit servers running Windows 2008 R2 (64 bit) and SQL Server 2008 R2 (64 bit) we get the error: ‘The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application’

Internet research indicates the error is generated when an application attempts to connect to a 64 bit SQL Server database using 32 bit drivers. SQL drivers in the ORS plugins directory may be the cause of this error. When we set up a 32 bit environment running Windows 2008 and SQL Server 2008 everything worked fine.

There are no supporting log files because this error occurs before log files even get generated.
