ORA-12154 TNS Could Not Resolve The Connect Identifier Specified Error When Accessing Demantra Business Modeler (Doc ID 1306587.1)

Symptoms

 
On a fresh installation of Demantra 7.3 on Windows 7
with no errors during the installation

When, accessing a worksheet, no data is seen , even though the data resides on the table

Unable to access Business Modeler (modeler.exe), receive the error:
    ORA-12154 TNS Could Not Resolve The Connect Identifier Specified
Verified that the database can be accessed using sqlplus.exe
Verified TNSNAMES.ora entries are correct


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
A. Login to Demantra Collaborator Workbench
     Open a Worksheet
(notice no data is displayed)

B. Try to open Business Modeler (click on modeler.exe)
(get the ORA-12154 error message)
same thing happens when accessing Demand Planner (dp.exe)

 

Other manifestations of the issue:

Unable to access Business Modeler (modeler.exe), receive the error:

    'System License has expired'
