Users of a Domain Cannot Authenticate to IMAP and/or POP Services (Doc ID 1308907.1)

Symptoms

Users of a specific domain are not able to authenticate.  In an IMAP client such as Thunderbird, they would see:

Login Failed
Login to server <server-hostname> failed.
<Enter New password>   <Cancel>   <Retry>


And with telnet to port 143, you see:

# telnet <server> 143
Trying XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX...
Connected to <server>.
Escape character is '^]'.

Changes

The domain entry was been modified in LDAP.
