Performance Degradation With FCT_ApplyBalance Module (Doc ID 1311254.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 24, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version: 7.2.0.3.0 and later   [Release: 7.2.0 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

We have 4 database instances and on each one we have ifw processes up and running. We also have daily tracker resources configured for most of the GPRS tariffs.

The increase of GPRS traffic using these tracker resources is resulting in high volumes of data being generated into the BAL_SUB_GRP_BALS_T table.

Currently our Pipeline Managers are running with almost 25728720, 30830572, 29292812, 30239632 sub bal group rows on 4 DBs, respectively. So, a long time is taken for FCT_ApplyBalance function module to commit the bundles into memory. This is resulting in drastic degradation of the overall rating performance for GPRS calls.
