msuserpurge Requires Correct LDAP mailHost: Attribute (Doc ID 1312693.1)

Last updated on JULY 01, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 6.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A customer runs msuserpurge (often as part of a "commadmin domain purge" session), but deleted users are not found and their mailboxes are not purged.

Deleted users are problematic because they are hidden from comadmin user search and DA Console.

Changes

Typically, administrators will find that accounts that behaved normally before deletion will purge successfully, since the mailhost: attribute had to be correct for normal operation of the account.

But since commadmin domain purge requires that all users be service-purged, if there are stray accounts that do not have a matching mailhost: value (from testing or provisioning errors), mspurge will fail to perform a mail service purge, and cause commadmin domain purge to fail when run later.
