Changing mailQuota LDAP Attribute Has No Effect on User's Quota (Doc ID 1314111.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 5.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer modified mailQuota value on the LDAP server but the Messaging Server still behaves as if it has not been changed, even several days after the change.

User had mailQuota attribute changed from 100M to 1000M 4 days ago.  We can see the new value in LDAP:

uid=jdoe,ou=People,o=oracle,o=com
mailQuota=1000M
mailUserStatus=overquota
mail=jdoe@oracle
uid=jdoe
cn=John Doe

And the change log shows when it was done:

modifytimestamp=20110218151337Z, mailQuota=1000M

But mboxutil -l still shows the old value:

# mboxutil -l -p user/jdoe/*
msgs  Kbytes last msg         partition   quotaroot mailbox

 296  102411 2011/02/07 20:27 mail01         102400 user/jdoe/INBOX

Even if there are attempt to send mails to this user, the quota does not get updated.

Changes

Changed mailQuota LDAP attribute from mailQuota=100M to mailQuota=1000M.
