Symptoms

On Oracle Financial Services Asset Liability Management (ALM) 5.2.2 when running ALM processes, there appear to be several which are hanging or looping. These processes must be manually terminated in UNIX.  After the initial rows are written to the RES_DTL_XXXXXX table in the first few minutes of processing, the ALM engine will continue to process for several hours without writing additional output records.

The processes which do not appear to complete appear to be the ones with a Forecast Balance rule attached:
  • Process with AMRT_TYPE_CD=500, one deal, Num of Processes=8, NO TP rule, With Forecast Balance
  • Process with AMRT_TYPE_CD=70024 (Behavior Pattern), one deal, Num of Processes=8, NO TP rule, With Forecast Balance
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Expect all ALM processes to complete successfully.
