The same escalation or reminder email is sent to some of the users repeatedly and causing an email storm.
It can be confirmed that the problem is happening by taking either of the below options:
1) Log into Web Client as a problem user and check the Notification Inbox. You can see multiple notifications are being sent out to the same user for the same object.
2) Run SQL like below to check the number of notification sent to the same user for the same object on particular date.
and N.NOTI_DATE_CREATED >= to_date('12/10/2010', 'MM/DD/YYYY')
and N.NOTI_DATE_CREATED < to_date('12/11/2010', 'MM/DD/YYYY')
group by U.NOTIUSER_USER_FK, N.NOTI_OBJECT_FK, N.NOTI_OBJECT_CLASS, N.NOTI_TYPE order by 1 desc;
(This is an example to check the notification sent on 12/10/2010)
From the returned result, obtain the object number and user login id by using the following sql:
sql> select CHANGE_NUMBER from CHANGE where ID=[N.NOTI_OBJECT_FK];
If N.NOTI_OBJECT_CLASS is 4428 or 4878, run below sql to get the QCR No:
sql> select QCR_NUMBER from QCR where ID=[N.NOTI_OBJECT_FK];
To get the login id of the user notified (recipient), use below sql:
sql> select LOGINID from AGILEUSER where ID=[U.NOTIUSER_USER_FK];
