The Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (OCNCC or NCC) replication mechanism stops working when the smsMaster process does not start-up after a Solaris 10 Recommended Patch upgrade.
The following errors are reported in the IN/service_packages/SMS/tmp/smsMaster.log file on the Service Management System (SMS) servers.
May 5 00:12:08.240893 smsMaster-evtRdr(8040) ERROR: This node not found in replication config
May 5 00:12:08.241229 smsMaster(8013) ERROR: This node not found in replication config
Note: The smsMaster and its smsMaster child process write to the same log file. The error message, shown above, is likely to appear corrupted as the two processes write the error message at the same time causing them to merge, as the example output shows below:
May 5 01:21:36.May 5 01:21:36720505. 720504smsMaster-evtRdr (smsMaster(1984619836) ) ERRORERROR: This node not found in replication config:
This node not found in replication config
When running the /IN/bin/getLanInfo -a4 command it produces a fatal ld.so.1 error, as shown below.
smf_oper@sms01$ /IN/bin/getLanInfo -a4
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232 index 1

For a workaround to this issue please refer to <document 1303696.1> - smsMaster Process Fails To Start With "ERROR: This node not found in replication config" under section Workaround and solution for a getLanInfo binary issue.
If interested, the remainder of this article covers the changes, cause and solution to this issue in more detail.
Solaris 10 Recommended Patch upgrade performed on the SMS servers with a NCC software version lower than 18.104.22.168 (Excelsior release).
