Oracle JDBC Driver Memory Leak (Doc ID 1328361.1)

Last updated on MARCH 24, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Order and Service Management - Version 7.0.1 to 7.0.2 [Release 7.0.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The JDBC Driver version is the certified version from OSM 7.0.0 to 7.0.3. It does have an issue which is described in this note.

Oracle JDBC Driver Memory Leak
In OSM, the extent of the leak depends on the volume and size of orders. For example, the leak was calculated to be about 90MB during a 3-day test on Linux with a moderate volume of large orders.  Although the memory leak was fixed in version of the JDBC driver, this version of the driver is not certified for use with OSM and is known to cause even more severe issues, which are under
investigation. Therefore, you are cautioned against using the latest driver version. Instead, it is recommended that you evaluate the leak in your environment with realistic order volumes over a long period and plan accordingly. In summary, Oracle recommends that you use version of the JDBC thin driver and version (11g R2) or (11g R1) of the Oracle Database.
