Goal

Customer Care and Billing (CCB) database growth is exceeding expectation and the majority of growth is appearing in the LOBSEGMENT.

We are looking at implementing a change to convert the LOB segments to securefile LOBs and enabling compression and de-duplication, but would like to know the following:

  1. Does Oracle support the use of securefile LOBs and compression with Oracle CC&B?
  2. Are there any impacts we can expect from this change?
  3. Are there any other suggestions for the configuration of the database in regard to growth, data allocation and compression for a CC&B database of our stature?
