FOD Batch Job Needs To Consider Work Days (Doc ID 1336498.1)

Symptoms

FOD batch job (Automatic dispatch of FA's / CIPOADPB) has a parameter called DISPATCH-DAYS.  This parameter strictly uses calendar days (i.e. business days are not considered).  With this limitation, it is possible that Field Orders and Field Activities might not be dispatched at the appropriate time. 

Consider the following example:

  • Create a Field Activity that should be dispatched on a Monday
  • Run FOD with a Business Date of the Friday before, with a DISPATCH-DAYS value of 2
  • Observe that the FA was not dispatched

This could affect normal business operations as the next run of FOD might be too late for the FA in question to be dispatched appropriately.
