Goal

Can bills be split according to the tax code? If in the bill unit is a product that has usages having different tax codes, BRM should generate one bill for each group of usage with the same tax code.

We tried to address this issue with Siebel by splitting the services according to the tax code, so Siebel could manage this information by generating many billing profiles in Siebel according with the tax code associated to the service. But this is a big customization for Siebel and they also said when we change the tax code associated with a usage they need to migrate all the billing profile to reflect the change.

The question here is: Is there any way to modify the Make Bill behavior in order to generate many bills for one bill unit in the same DOM according to each tax code? In this case, one bill unit could generate more than one bill per bill cycle.

The CRM used Siebel 8.1 integrated with BRM using AIA/PIPS 2.5. And basically integrate to a tax solution, where we call during the billing process, to calculate the tax amount.
