MedWatch Report Fails with message ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

Symptoms

When a MedWatch Report is run for a valid Case that has more than 41 Product - [Dosing] records, the report will fail with below message:

Terminated with error:
REP-1401: MSG-00102: Begin POP_MEDWATCHTEMP_TABLE3443!
REP-1401: 'beforereport': Fatal PL/SQL error occurred.
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-06512: at "AERS1.RPT_THERAPY_DATA", line 2282
ORA-06512: at "AERS1.RPT_MEDWATCH_PKG", line 1210
ORA-06512: at "AERS1.RPT_MEDWATCH_PKG", line 319

e.g.


Steps to Reproduce:

  • AERS 4.6.1 or AERS 4.6.2
  • Open any existing case
    • Product
    • [Dosing]
    • Add 41 Dosing rows
  • Save Case
  • Run any Draft MedWatch Report with below runtime option set:
    • Print suspect drug dosing details? = Y
  • Report Completes fine

  • Return to same case
    • Products
    • [Dosing]
    • Add one further dosing details row (Total = 42 dosing rows)
  • Run any MedWatch Report in Draft (or Submission)
  • Report Fails with warning:
