Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Creating Different Formats Of Telephone Number Extensions Using Single Specification:

The format of External Extensions now is PilotNumber- extension number SideNo

There is a “-“ between Pilot number and extension number and “ “ between extension No and Side No.
For Ex: 12345678-0004 01

So the possibilities are for the Extension number and the Side number.
The Pilot number is fixed for 8 digits.

The number number is 4 digits which appears after a “-“ after the pilot number can be 1 to 4 digits ie., it can be
12345678-4 01
12345678-04 01
12345678-004 01
12345678-0004 01

The Side number has a maximum of 2 digits and can be not present also.
So the below External extension numbers all valid.
12345678-0004
12345678-0004 1
12345678-0004 01
