Tomcat Memory Leak Prevention is Throwing Severe Warnings During Shutdown (Doc ID 1343019.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 23, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Documaker - Version 11.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When stopping Tomcat 6.0.24 or later running iDocumaker, the following error occurs.

SEVERE: The web application [/skywireccm] registered the JBDC driver [org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver] but failed to unregister it when the web application was stopped. To prevent a memory leak, the JDBC Driver has been forcibly unregistered.

SEVERE: The web application [/skywireccm] appears to have started a thread named [Timer-2] but has failed to stop it. This is very likely to create a memory leak.

...

SEVERE: The web application [/skywireccm] created a ThreadLocal with key of type [java.lang.ThreadLocal] (value [java.lang.ThreadLocal@801b21]) and a value of type [org.apache.xalan.transformer.TransformerIdentityImpl] (value [org.apache.xalan.transformer.TransformerIdentityImpl@7518e9]) but failed to remove it when the web application was stopped. This is very likely to create a memory leak.
