Using immonitor-access to Measure Messaging Server Response Time (Doc ID 1343053.1)

Last updated on MARCH 14, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 5.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When troubleshooting performance problems, poor response time is normally very subjective. It can be difficult to know whether a given response time is good, bad, or better or worse than normal; or whether the problem is related to the response time of a specific protocol exchange or the total time required to perform a series of operations.

The immonitor-access utility measures and reports the individual components of overall response time and thereby gives you a way to document and possibly isolate the problem and to test whether any improvements result from configuration changes you are making.

It can be used to measure the response time of IMAP, POP, SMTP, LMTP, some parts of webmail, and the LDAP service.
