How Is File Descriptor Limit Set in the AService Process ? (Doc ID 1351382.1)

Purpose

The Messaging Multiplexor (MMP) AService process must handle a large number of File Descriptors (FD).  It uses one FD for each TCP connection coming from the POP/IMAP/SMTP client, another FD for each corresponding connection to the backend, and a varied number of FDs for LDAP and name service lookups, config files, log files, etc.  How do you make sure the process FD limit is set high enough to allow for all those connections ?  What happens if it is not ?
