Applies to:

Oracle Communications Order and Service Management - Version: 7.0.2 and later   [Release: 7.0.0 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An order is created by siebel and sent to AIA. After the message is in the AIA queue, the Weblogic JMS Bridge picks up the message and moves it over to the Weblogic queue oracle/communications/ordermanagement/WebServiceQueue. After this,  we noticed that the message in this queue is consumed but the order is not created and we found the following error in the log :

"java.io.CharConversionException: Illegal ASCII character"

Based on your analysis the problem is caused by a couple special characters inside this tag <corecom:Name>Freedom Pack 20(special characters)</corecom:Name>.

If we send the tag <corecom:Name>Freedom Pack 20</corecom:Name>  ,   the order is created without any problem.
