OFSAA Service Pack Install Stops After 'Updating DB Layer Files' & No AplicationServicePack.log (Doc ID 1361082.1)

Symptoms

When an installing a Service Pack for Oracle Financial Services Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), Profitability Management (PFT), or Asset Liability Management (ALM), the installation stops before copying web layer and application layer files and running database scripts.  The install log shows that it stops after the step of 'Updating DB Layer Files':

Also, there is no AplicationServicePack.log created in $FIC_HOME.

When you review the installation directory where the patch is extracted, you do not see all of the patch's sub-directories.  Sub-directories like ficapp, ficweb, ftpshare, etc. are missing.
