P6 Redirects From HTTPS to HTTP When Using WebLogic With a Proxy Plugin (Doc ID 1364534.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 15, 2023

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version 8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

With P6 EPPM deployed in WebLogic 11g or later configured with a Proxy Plugin (ie. IIS or Oracle HTTP Server) and connecting to the proxy plugin over SSL (HTTPS connection), after the user connects to the P6 login page and logs in the browser URL is redirected from an HTTPS URL to one using the insecure HTTP protocol.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The browser should not redirect from HTTPS to HTTP protocol.

HTTPS Authentication in the P6 Configuration is turned off/not being used (see Doc ID 1267737.1 - P6 R8 Authentication Is Configured to Use SSL (HTTPS) by Default for reference), which would not be causing this redirection to occur with the implementation of SSL for Authentication.

ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS

The following error can occur in the P6WebAccess.html log file when navigating to the Resources page (this issue is resolved with Solution 1 below).

ERROR /action/rm/lwfUsageAnalysis (User Id: ### DB Id: #) com.primavera.pvweb.FrontRequestProcessor - Exception while processing request for page: /p6/action/rm/lwfUsageAnalysis
javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NullPointerException
