Calculation Error Occurs for an Allocation After Changes Made to 'Mode' and 'Rule Level' on Rules Page (Doc ID 1370034.1)

Last updated on MAY 05, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Allocation - Version 13.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

For an allocation that was saved but not calculated, making changes to the Rule Level and Mode in the Rules page generates an inconsistency in the parameters.  This leads to a calculation error and incorrect parameter recovery during the opening of the allocation.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Log in to Allocation.
  2. Search for items to allocate.
  3. Locate and add a valid staple item and set "Release Date" as the following day.
  4. Define one destination store and leave "In Store Date" blank; disable "Enforce Store-Warehouse Relationship".  Click Next.
  5. Configure the Rule screen as follows:
    • Rule: Plan
    • Hierarchy: Subclass
    • Mode: Cascade
    • Date Range: Select a valid date range
  6. Save the allocation.
  7. Note that the allocation summary Hierarchy Subclass as Rule Level as expected.
  8. Access Rule page by clicking "Rule" in the allocation summary page.
  9. Change Mode to Simple.
  10. Change Level to SKU.
  11. Save the allocation.
  12. Note that the allocation summary Hierarchy SKU as Rule Level as expected.
  13. Click Calculate button.
  14. Note that the final allocation status is "Calculation Error" (PROBLEM 1).
  15. Click the allocation that was just created and has the status "Calculation Error".
  16. Note that the allocation summary Hierarchy SKU as Rule Level as expected.
  17. Access Rule page by clicking "Rule" in the allocation summary page.
  18. Note that Mode is set to "Cascade" (PROBLEM 2) and Level Hierarchy is blank (PROBLEM 3), showing an inconsistency between Summary page and Rule page.

PROBLEM 1: Calculation is not completed due to error calculation
PROBLEM 2: The change in the Mode was not retrieved correctly after the change
PROBLEM 3: The change in the Rule Level was not retrieved correctly after the change
