Device discovery with snmpv2 fails but succeeds with snmpv1 only (Doc ID 1373019.1)

Symptoms

Customer was unable to discover subinterfaces on a device with snmpv2, but the device will only complete discovery with snmpv1. Commonly the following error would be seen in the policy server logs:


20090713-223801|002a|TRC1|SNMP Device: State Change <IP> (public) <HOST> FROM GettingSystem TO GettingBulkInterfaces
20090713-223811|002a|INF2|Raising fault '1616 : %1% (%2%) Timeout occurred partway through discovery of this device'
