Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version: 6.3 and later   [Release: 6.3 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A Calendar Server 6.3 calendar user, using Thunderbird and Lightning, receives an email.  The email comes from an external calendar system (e.g. Microsoft Exchange Server 2007), and  contains an  ics event invitation .

The user can accept the invitation, but afterwards, modifications from the organizer are not accepted.

Running cscomponents shows the event in the calendar database:

e.g. mail invitation sent from user@externalsystem.com to local@owndomain.com:

# ./cscomponents -v -t event -s 20110616T000000Z -e
20110617T000000Z list local@owndomain.com | grep -i  organizer
        pSummary = nsand ics from external organizer
  OrganizerEmail = user@externalsystem.com
       Organizer = present
                  organizer caladdress  = <not present>
                  organizer uid         = local@owndomain.com
                  organizer sent by uid = <not present>
                  organizer sent by     = <not present>
                  organizer common name = <not present>
                  organizer dir param   = <not present>
                  organizer URI         = <not present>
                  organizer lang        = <not present>

It shows the external user's email address, but also shows the local user as the organizer.
