DEFAULT_TAX_TYPE = 'Sales' Enforces VAT_REGION, VAT_CODES Etc. To Be Setup (Doc ID 1379167.1)

Last updated on JUNE 07, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 13.2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Setting the SYSTEM_OPTIONS TABLE to:

is still enforcing VAT_REGION to be assigned to Stores, Warehouses and Suppliers. Also, this also enforces setup in VAT_DEPS, VAT_CODES, VAT_CODE_RATES table.

The DEFAULT_TAX_TYPE = 'SALES' should indicate that Retail Merchandising System (RMS) will work very similar to the VAT OFF environment.

Steps to recreate

  1. Set the System Options to be
    • VAT_IND = 'Y'
    • DEFAULT_TAX_TYPE = 'SALES'
    • CLASS_LEVEL_VAT_IND = 'N'
    • STKLGD_VAT_INCL_RETL_IND = 'N'
    • DEFAULT_VAT_REGION = 1000
  2. Go to the Store Form and try creating a new store. It will enforce VAT_REGION to be associated to the store.
  3. Go to the Supplier Form and try creating a new supplier. It will enforce VAT_REGION to be associate to the supplier.
  4. Try creating an Item without defining any setup in VAT_DEPS table - an error message indicates that VAT_RATE could not be found for this newly created item for the VAT_REGION.
