In UIM, Cannot Map View Page Be Linked To Topology Page In Networks (Doc ID 1381300.1)

Symptoms


The customer cannot view the icons in the mapviewer.
The legend icons are not shown either.
The user tries to assign an network element to the topological view, but he cannot see the elements on the mapviewer.

On the UIM Map view, network nodes and edges are shown on a map based on latitude and longitude.
Network nodes appear in the map view only if they are associated with a place that includes a latitude and longitude or associated to a place that is associated with an address that has a latitude and longitude.

So basically the steps are:
1- edit the map profile of your network and add the latitude and longitude.
2 - add a node in the topological view;
3 - in the topological view, associate the node with a place (this place will have the map latitude and longitude)

Zoom the map (on the map view) until see the node placed in there.
