Symptoms

When running with an Oracle 9i, 10g, or 11g database, you may encounter slow performance or the following SQL exception when running queries on a date columns.  The query performs a full table scan and fails to use any indexes.

Sample SQL exception:

CONTAINER:atg.repository.RepositoryException; SOURCE:java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01483: invalid length for DATE or NUMBER bind variable

Changes

These problems can become more apparent after a database upgrade.
