How to Increase the Maximum Number of Concurrent Sessions for a Batch of Subscribers (Doc ID 1385991.1)

Last updated on JUNE 28, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 4.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Currently, on all versions of Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (NCC) the only available method to increase the maximum number of concurrent sessions allowed for a provisioned Subscriber/Wallet is via the SMS Screens.

This screen can be found for each provisioned Subscriber under "Prepaid Charging => Subscriber Management".

By adjusting the highlighted "Maximum Concurrent Accesses" value and saving the changes, it is possible to increase this limit.

Since this action can only be performed on a single Wallet at a time, it can be tedious and very time consuming if a large number of Wallets require adjusting.

This article will cover an alternative method to increase the aforementioned limit for a large Wallet base.

The scenario covered in the example is to increase the MAX_CONCURRENT for all Wallets currently with a limit under 30 to at least 30.

The following Action Plan requires manual updates to the underlying Oracle Database.  Please do not undertake such changes without first consulting Oracle Support.
