Creating Domain Through Create Host Page Does Not Warn When The Domain Exists (Doc ID 1386339.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Internet Name and Address Management - Version 6.1.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When creating static hosts through the INA GUI the user has the option of adding a domain to the host as part of the creation process. The user can select "add" domain or they can enter in a domain name in a text field and select "create". If they select "create"the domain name will be created and then when the host is saved it will be bound to the domain.

When the domain creation process is executed (after selecting "create") it will always create a new domain name/static IP bind  even if the domain already exists, which may result in unwanted A/PTR records against the domain.

If the domain already exists the GUI should warn the user that the domain exists and if they continue additional Resource records may be created.
