FTP Process with Large Rule Hangs or Fails to Create Transfer Rates

(Doc ID 1405474.1)

Oracle Financial Services Funds Transfer Pricing - Version: 5.2 and later   [Release: 5 and later ]

Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA)

In Oracle Financial Services Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), when you run an FTP Process that uses a rule with a large quantity of definitions for different products and currencies, the process hangs and does not output any transfer rates.  In some cases, a core file is generated.  The ofstp log in $FIC_DB_HOME/log/FusionApps ends abruptly in the middle of processing.

This issue has occurred with several different large rules.

Example 1: Transfer Pricing Rule

If you have a Transfer Pricing Rule with definitions for over 2,000 product / currency combinations, the FTP Process ends without any rates written to the instrument tables.  Based on the information in the ofstp log, the process seems to fail while loading the FTP Rule definition.

If you reduce the Product / Currency combinations to a value below 2,000, the process runs successfully.

Example 2: Adjustment Rule

If you have an Adjustment Rule with over 350 product / currencies defined and over 180,000 rows in the related FSI_M_ADD_ON_RATE_DTL table, the FTP process fails.  Based on the information in the ofstp log, the process seems to fail while processing the instrument table data.

If you delete all data related to one or two Product / Currency combinations from FSI_M_ADJUSTMENT_RULE and FSI_M_ADD_ON_RATE_DTL, reducing the amount of rows in these tables, the process completes successfully.
