Goal

Customer feels the upgrade scripts take too much time. This is due to the time taken by event_partition.sql script during 65_73 upgrade as it is dropping and recreating the indexes on all event_* tables. The following are some questions about this issue.
  1. Is it necessary to drop and recreate indexes for all old event_* tables?
  2. Why is the index being dropped and recreated as part of this process for old tables and already existing indexes which needs to be present in target as well?
