Symptoms

For an Oracle Financial Services Profitability Analytics (PFTBI) 5.6 implementation, users are trying to re-save the PFTACPRF (Account Level Profitability) Cube in Business Metadata Management > Cubes. After searching for the Cube and entering and deleting a space in the Long Description, users get the following error when clicking on Save:

Metadata could not be parsed. Please check SQL syntax

Users find the following error in the SMSService.log in $FIC_APP_HOME/common/FICServer/logs:

java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00904: "FCT_COMMON_ACCOUNT_SUMMARY"."N_INSTRUMENT_TYPE": invalid identifier

The error prevents users from re-saving the PFTACPRF cube as describe in the PFTBI User Guide.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Go to Unified Metadata Manager.
  2. Go to Business Metadata Management > Cubes.
  3. Click on Search.
  4. Select PFTACPRF in the search screen.
  5. In Long Description, enter a space and delete it.
  6. Click on Save.

The error message appears.
