Purpose

Frequently Asked Questions about Event Notification APIs.

This article is about the facility for Messaging Server and Calendar Server to generate (publish) events which can be received (consumed) by a customer-written application. For example, if you want to have some external program notified when users delete email, you could enable the DeleteMsg event.

The ENS API header file does not match the API / my ENS program does not compile

Should customers keep on using ENS for customer's notification Java application (and use old, not maintained ens.jar) or move to JMS (which is rather new in MS7)?
Also IMAP IDLE is configured by default and is only supported/works with ENS rather than JMQ.
