OFSAA Application Preferences Does Not Reflect Changes Made Directly to REV_APP_USER_PREFERENCES

Symptoms

On Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) 5.6, the OFSAA Application Preferences does not reflect the actual value in database table rev_app_user_preferences. It is not uncommon to have a scheduled job that rolls the as_of_date forward at the beginning of each new process cycle.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
Even after updating REV_APP_USER_PREFERENCES from the database, the change is not reflected in the UI.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Expect the date in Application Preferences to show the actual value in the database and not some cached value.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to the application. Navigate to Application Preferences.
2. Modify the As Of Date. Click Apply.
3. Login to database.
4. Update atomic schema rev_app_user_preferences set as_of_date = as_of_date + 1 for the same user_id.
5. Login to the application. Navigate to Application Preferences.
==> The As Of Date has not changed to reflect what is in the database table rev_app_user_preferences.
